The Members Corner now has a Postal History page, thanks to David Oldfield.
For those members who did not make it to the February 28th. meeting here is your chance to see and read what you missed, minus David's humor.
You can go the the MenuBar in the upper right corner and click on Postal History or Click on this Thumbnail:
Titled...Canadian Cover to Wm. H. Taft
We would like to make this a regular feature on the IEPS website if the presenter would make arrangments with David Oldfield at the meeting or email David at: kdoidaho@roadrunner.com. We will even take stories that are not presented at a meeting.
The LINK for this article will only be here till the next months meeting, but will always be accessible through the Menu/Members Corner.

IRBY... what is Irby? Ruth Schaffer, originally from Irby, Washington in southern Lincoln County, will be our featured speaker. Her presentation will be about the “Irby Post Office”, which was established in 1903. Her mother, Victoria Ott, was postmaster there from 1925 until 1962 at which time it was discontinued. Ruth has pictures of the post office and postal items to share with us. Plan on attending, a lot of fun.FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK
Dear Friends and Fellow Philatelists:
The Inland Empire Philatelic Society welcomes you to their website, and hopes that this will encourage you to attend one of our monthly meetings. We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 P.M. in the downstairs Activities Room of the Riverview Terrace Retirement Home, located at East 1801 Upriver Drive. The second Tuesday of the month is our "Stamp Mixture Night," an opportunity for socializing and for the purchase of stamps from the club holdings. The meeting of the Board of Directors (7 directors) is held at 6:15 that evening and is open to members and guests. On the fourth Tuesday of the month, we have our General Meeting, beginning with introductions and upcoming events announced followed by a philatelic speaker or some other activity of interest to the club. We have a nightly drawing followed by a Club Auction that consists of club material and material that is brought by club members. The members pay a 10 percent commission to the club for their items that sell.
We also have a July picnic in Manito Park that replaces the fourth Tuesday general membership meeting. In December we meet only once for a Christmas Dinner Party at the Riverview Terrace Retirement Home in the activities room and it is served by their staff. It is a wonderful event to close out the year.
The club also publishes a newsletter called THE LILAC HINGE to keep the club members informed of upcoming activities.
With my warmest Welcome,
J. W. Palmer
President
